Are Mormons Christians?

We talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins. (2Nephi25:26)

First Presidency Invites Worldwide Participation in Palm Sunday Worship and Easter General Conference

This Easter season, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are encouraged to bring friends, family and neighbors to a one-hour Palm Sunday worship service in their local chapels on March 29, 2026.

SALT LAKE CITY — March 15, 2026 As Easter approaches, The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has extended a heartfelt invitation to members and friends worldwide to gather in worship and reflection. The announcement highlights two significant opportunities to celebrate the life, ministry, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ: a Palm Sunday worship service and the Church’s semiannual general conference.

Palm Sunday Worship Services

On Sunday, March 29, 2026, local congregations across the globe will host a one-hour Palm Sunday service. Members are encouraged to invite family, friends, and neighbors to join them in chapels for this special occasion. The service is designed to help participants feel God’s love and prepare spiritually for Easter week.

General Conference Broadcast

The following weekend, on April 4–5, 2026, the Church will hold its worldwide general conference. This semiannual event, broadcast from Salt Lake City, will feature messages from Church leaders focused on Jesus Christ, His Resurrection, and His role as Redeemer. Millions of viewers across continents are expected to participate, making it one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.

Messages from the First Presidency

The invitation was shared through a video message in which each member of the First Presidency bore personal testimony of Jesus Christ:

- President D. Todd Christofferson spoke of God’s perfect love, reminding members that through Christ’s atoning sacrifice, humanity can experience peace, joy, and eternal life. He emphasized Christ’s role as Advocate and Redeemer, offering hope both now and in eternity.

- President Henry B. Eyring testified of the Resurrection, declaring that Jesus Christ broke the bands of death. He highlighted the promise that all of God’s children will rise again in perfected, resurrected bodies. This assurance, he said, transforms sorrow into hope, offering comfort to those who mourn and anticipation of joyful reunions.

- President Dallin H. Oaks affirmed that Jesus Christ lives and is the Way. He described the Savior’s Atonement and Resurrection as the ultimate evidence of divine love, quoting Christ’s words: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” He emphasized that the Atonement is a universal gift, made possible by the love of both the Son and the Father.

A Season of Reflection and Renewal

The Easter season is a time of renewal and remembrance for Christians worldwide. For members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, these invitations serve as a reminder to center their lives on Jesus Christ and to share His love with others. By gathering together in worship and participating in general conference, members can strengthen their faith and deepen their understanding of the Savior’s role in God’s plan of happiness.

Global Participation

The Church’s emphasis on worldwide participation reflects its global membership, with congregations in more than 180 countries. Both the Palm Sunday service and general conference will be accessible through local chapels, online broadcasts, and television and radio coverage, ensuring that individuals everywhere can join in worship regardless of location.
