A compelling call to faith, endurance, and decisive action was extended to young members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the October 2025 worldwide youth broadcast titled “Look unto Christ.” Made available on October 26, 2025, this special broadcast features messages from a senior Apostle and the General Officers of the Young Men and Young Women, all encouraging youth to continue finding their strength and direction by fixing their gaze on the Savior.
The broadcast served as a powerful culmination of the 2025 youth theme, which centered on the scripture found in Doctrine and Covenants 6:36: “Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.” Youth around the globe have been invited to gather as wards or stakes to view the recorded event, using the opportunity to reflect on their year, share testimonies of how they’ve drawn closer to Jesus Christ, and commit to pressing forward on the covenant path.
President Holland on the "Decade of Decision" and Overcoming Fear
A highlight of the broadcast was the heartfelt counsel delivered by President Jeffrey R. Holland, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Speaking from the visitors' center of the recently acquired historic Kirtland Temple in Ohio, President Holland affectionately addressed the youth, declaring their teenage years to be among the happiest and most critical in their lives.
He characterized this period as a "decade of decision," one teeming with "life-shaping, future-shaping activities," yet inevitably accompanied by opposition—much like the trials faced by the early Saints in Kirtland. His message was one of powerful assurance: “Look unto God. Don’t let doubts obscure your way. Fear not.”
The Call to Mission and Temple
Drawing on his personal life, President Holland shared the profound, life-altering impact of his missionary service in Great Britain. He emphatically stated that the combination of receiving a temple endowment and serving a mission represents a "veritable pot of gold at the end of your rainbow."
"At the top of the list," he explained, "is that it is God’s work. He already knows you, and perhaps for the first time in your life, you get to know Him deeply and personally.”
He emphasized the core message of the youth theme—“doubt not” and “fear not.” Recognizing that everyone experiences fear, President Holland urged youth to trust in the experiences of their leaders, offering his solemn testimony: “Please know we have walked the same path you are walking and face the same issues you are facing.”
President Holland concluded with a powerful declaration, emphasizing the foundational truths of the Church: the reality of the First Vision, the divinity of the Book of Mormon, and the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He expressed immense confidence in the rising generation: “In virtually every instance, I’m not fearful for the future of the Church because of you.”

Simple Steps Toward the Savior
Joining the conversation from the grounds and inside the revered Kirtland Temple, Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman and Young Men General President Timothy L. Farnes shared practical invitations for youth to continually turn to the Savior.
The Temple as a Place of Refuge
President Freeman highlighted the perseverance of the early Saints, who faced persecution while laboring to build the Lord’s house in Kirtland. She referenced the enthusiasm of Hyrum Smith, eager to start work with his shovel. She then testified of the temple’s enduring power: “Temples are places of strength and refuge, then and now... a place to help us overcome fear and doubt and to look to Christ.”
Repentance in Small and Simple Ways
President Farnes reflected on what it means to truly repent in the context of continually turning to the Savior. He taught that repentance isn't just a monumental, one-time act, but a constant, gentle redirection:
“When we turn to Christ, we repent in every small and simple way... As we read our scriptures, as we say our prayers, as we think kind thoughts and do kind deeds, we’re actually repenting.”
Stepping Closer to Christ
The General Officers extended several key invitations for youth to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ, including:
1. Seeking inspiration through the Holy Ghost.
2. Praying and studying the scriptures daily.
3. Qualifying for and attending the temple.
4. Receiving a father’s blessing and a patriarchal blessing.
5. Enrolling in Seminary.
6. Extending forgiveness.
7. Deciding to serve a mission.
Accepting even one of these invitations, they promised, will strengthen one's connection to the Savior. Acknowledging that fear and doubt may still enter the heart, President Farnes reiterated the importance of these small efforts: “That’s why we need to remember to take those simple steps towards Him to turn to Him and understand the strength that He promises us.”
