ANGELES CITY, Philippines — A local family is expressing profound gratitude this week after an LDS missionary emerged safe from a bicycle accident while serving abroad.

Elder Jimenez, who has been serving in the Philippine Angeles Mission for nearly 14 months, was involved in the incident six days ago. While the news initially brought a wave of concern to his family, reports confirm that he escaped serious injury.

A Testimony of Protection

For a moment my heart felt heavy and worried," his mother shared, describing the universal fear parents feel when receiving such reports. "But that fear quickly turned into deep gratitude when I learned that he was safe."

​For the Jimenez family, the delay in receiving the news served as a poignant reminder of the risks faced by young volunteers and the faith required by those they leave behind.
