Are Mormons Christians?

We talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins. (2Nephi25:26)

After the Floods Destroyed School In Thailand, This Is What Happened Next

Our purpose is to serve and uplift communities in times of need. We hope this donation helps students return to learning with comfort, safety, and confidence.”

PATTANI PROVINCE, THAILAND — Members of , in partnership with , visited on February 4, 2026, to provide essential equipment following severe flooding that disrupted education across the community.

The donation ceremony took place at the school in Don Rak Subdistrict, Nong Chik District, where principal Mrs. Sopit Chimphlipak formally received the items on behalf of teachers, students, and local officials. During the visit, the delegation also met with Jasmine Jaleh, a royal scholarship recipient whose perseverance in the face of hardship has inspired fellow students and educators.

Between November 22 and December 2, 2025, widespread flooding affected large areas of and neighboring parts of southern Thailand, causing extensive damage to schools and public infrastructure. Ban Don Rak School was among the hardest hit, with classrooms, furniture, teaching materials, electrical and water systems, and outdoor facilities damaged—leading to temporary suspension of classes and safety concerns for staff and students.

To support recovery and help restore a safe, functional learning environment, the Church donated eight standing fans, two double-door refrigerators, an A4 laminating machine, and forty sets of steel-frame desks and chairs. School officials said the equipment will enable the resumption of regular instruction and significantly improve classroom conditions.

The ceremony was marked by a strong sense of gratitude and community solidarity, as teachers and students expressed appreciation for the timely support and emphasized its role in helping the school move forward.

The donation forms part of broader local and international recovery efforts in southern Thailand following the 2025 monsoon season, during which multiple provinces experienced severe flooding and coordinated responses from government agencies and civil society to restore normalcy for affected communities.
